Which transmission does this suit? +
The GBS ION controller is designed specifically for the BA/BF ION 4-speed automatic transmission. It is not compatible with other transmission types.
Does it work with any shifter? +
No — this controller is designed for use with the factory BA/BF tiptronic shifter only. It will not function correctly with aftermarket shifters or non-tiptronic factory shifters.
Does it require a PCM reflash? +
Yes. The Ford PCM must be reflashed to disable the factory automatic transmission control. This is a required step before the ION controller will operate correctly.
What is the shift pattern? +
The default gear when placed in D or S is 3rd. Clicking up twice puts it into 1st. Clicking backward steps through the gears in sequence: 1 → 2 → 3 → 3+Lockup → 4 → 4+Lockup. Clicking forward steps back through the same pattern.
What is the 4th gear lockout? +
An optional feature that locks out 4th gear entirely, so the highest gear the transmission will reach is 3rd+Lockup. Suitable for burnout cars and track builds that do not require 4th gear.
What is the lead time? +
The ION transmission controller is dispatched within 1 week. This is separate from shipping transit time.
What warranty is included? +
All GBS products include a 12 month workmanship warranty covering manufacturing defects and workmanship faults.
